From Dependency to Sustainability: Empowering AGF Partners for Lasting Change.

We work closely with our partner schools to strengthen their organizational structures and support income-generating initiatives, ensuring long-term financial security and independence.
This solid foundation for sustainability creates a ripple effect that extends far beyond AGF’s direct support—positively impacting entire communities.
By empowering schools to operate independently and sustainably, we enable them to become models of resilience and success, inspiring others to follow.
Our Current School Partners
-
LaSalle School is a Catholic secondary school run by the De La Salle Brothers in Nyeri, Kenya. Founded in 2016 as a mixed-gender institution, the school originally aimed for a 50:50 gender balance, but has consistently enrolled more boys than girls. In line with AGF’s mission to promote gender equity, AGF offers both 100% and 50% scholarships for girls to boost female enrollment while also supporting the financial sustainability of the school.
-
Loreto Rumbek is an education and leadership hub for girls in South Sudan, a country where poverty, conflict, early marriage, and gender inequality severely hinder female advancement. Since 2021, AGF has partnered with Loreto to support its mission of empowering girls through education, leadership development, and long-term opportunities for change.
-
St. Aquinas is a co-educational boarding school run by the Benedictine Sisters in Mtwara, Tanzania. While the school serves both boys and girls, AGF works exclusively with the female students, providing scholarships, mentorship, and leadership training. The aim is to equip girls with skills in entrepreneurship, self-advocacy, and personal growth, ensuring they are empowered to shape their own futures and become confident, capable leaders.
-
St. Mary Assumpta is the only all-girls secondary school in Adjumani District, Uganda, playing a vital role in promoting gender equity and female leadership in the region. Under the visionary leadership of Sister Rebecca, the school has become a safe and empowering space for girls to thrive. As an AGF partner, St. Mary Assumpta benefits from scholarships and mentorship programs that help young women overcome economic and social barriers to education and build the confidence to shape their own futures.
-
Te-Kworo Girls Secondary School in Pader, Northern Uganda, provides education and empowerment opportunities for young women in a region impacted by poverty, conflict, and cultural barriers. As an all-girls school, Te-Kworo is a key AGF partner, offering full scholarships, mentorship, and leadership training to ensure that girls have access to education and career pathways.
Stories of impact
Empowering Adolescent Girls
At the African Adolescent Girl Fund (AGF), every adolescent girl is a catalyst for change. Behind each scholar is a story of transformation—a young girl breaking barriers, a school achieving financial sustainability, or a community empowered through opportunity.
With education, mentorship, and leadership development, AGF equips adolescent girls with the skills and confidence to shape their futures and create lasting impact. These young women are not just beneficiaries—they are leaders, innovators, and changemakers, paving the way for generations to come.
Strengthening Schools
All of our partner schools have launched income-generating projects, moving toward financial independence while creating opportunities for their students and communities.
By building sustainable revenue streams, these schools are breaking free from dependency, securing long-term stability, and ensuring quality education for future generations.
More than just institutions, they are role models, paving the way for other schools to follow—proving that sustainability is possible and transformation is within reach.
